Intelligence: The ability to gain and apply knowledge and skills
Defination :
The art of creating machines that perform functions that require
intelligence when performed by people (Kurzweil,1990)
The branch of computer science that is concerned with the automation of intelligent behavior
(Luger and Stublefield, 1993)
Artificial Intelligence is a very wide field of science and engineering which makes intelligent machines and especially intelligent computer programs.AI is computer to do tasks that requires human Intelligence.
People devide AI into two classes :
a) Strong AI b) Weak AI
a) Strong AI
In strong AI the system makes the bold claim that computers can be made to think on a level atleast equal to humans. It is used to describe a certain mindset of artificial intelligence. Its deals with some form of computer base artificial Intelligence.
b) Week AI
Week AI research deals with the creation of some form of Intelligence which solve the problems in a limited domain.
Difference between natural Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence
Natural Intelligence :
i) Natural Intelligence increases with experience and it can be
hereditary.
ii) In natural Intelligence increases by supervised or
unsupervised teaching.
iii) No one is a expert. We can always get better solution from
another human being.
Artificial Intelligence :
i) Artificial Intelligence programmed by human beings.
ii) It is increase capabilities by other means apart from supervised
and unsupervised teaching
iii) In artificial Intelligence Expert system are made which have
capability of many individual person's experiences and ideas
Application of AI
AI has many application following are some applications
1) INDUSTRIES
Now a days AI play most important role in Industries.Robots have become common in many industries manufacturing, supplying and production departments. Robots given a jobs that are considered dangerous to humans without mistake or accident.
2)GAMING
AI plays crucial role in strategic games such as chess, 8 queen,Monkey banana
tic-tac-toe, etc., where machine can think of large number of possible
positions based on heuristic knowledge
3) NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING
Natural language means the native language , the language one speaks. The term natural language is used to distinguish it from the computer input terms and language modeled on natural human languages. So a natural language computer is the computer which interacts through natural language.
4) EDUCATION
AI play important role in education system. Different type of computers systems, technologies, is used to explain and elaborate knowledge easily and correctly. There have also been a rise of intelligent tutoring system.
5) MEDICAL OR HOSPITALS
Now a days AI neural network is very popular and broadly used in medical field which is used as
clinical decision support system for medical diagnosis. AI creates intelligent computer systems that perform
tasks without receiving instructions directly from humans.
